What the service does, what it does not, and what each side owes the other.
BuildCost Africa estimates the cost of a construction project from the quantities you enter and a price base kept per country and per city. The service is provided by GenOpsX LLC.
This is the most important line on this page. The figures produced are an estimate, based on prices observed on a given date and on the assumptions you chose. It is not an offer, not a contractor’s quotation, and not a design study.
Material prices move week to week and neighbourhood to neighbourhood, and an estimate knows nothing of your ground conditions, your site access or your programme. Have any structural sizing checked by a qualified engineer before you build. We are not responsible for decisions taken on an estimate alone.
You sign in with a link sent to your email, or from a Telegram or WhatsApp chat you have linked. Keep control of those: whoever controls them controls the account. Tell us if that stops being true.
An account is for one person. Plans with several seats let you open one per team member.
Plans are billed in advance for the period chosen, at the rate shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Usage limits are monthly and reset at the start of each period.
A plan that lapses stops granting the paid features; it does not silently degrade the estimates you already made, which stay readable. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and there is no pro-rata refund.
If a payment was taken and access did not open, write to us with the reference: we will fix it or refund it.
Bulk-extract the price base to resell or republish it. Resell access to the service. Work around usage limits with multiple accounts. Try to reach anyone else’s data.
Your projects and estimates are yours. We host them so we can give them back to you, and claim no ownership of them. The price base, the calculation models and the site remain ours.
We aim to keep the service up but do not guarantee it. It may be interrupted for maintenance, or by a provider’s failure.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited.
We may change these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and a change against your interest will be told to you before it takes effect. You can close your account whenever you like. We may suspend an account that breaks the “what you may not do” section.
